It’s so hard to know what to say about myself… but here goes!
I am BRITISH. English / Scottish. Born in Southern England but not typically English. I tend to say what I think and my friends tell me that I strike up conversations with random strangers more than anyone they know, even on the tube.
I am FEMALE. Evenly balancing the stereotypical male and female attributes: I am great at building things, have excellent spatial awareness, love to discuss and superb at crying, even in public.
I am a CREATIVE. I studied Architecture at Kingston Polytechnic/University and for the last 18 really happy years I have been running the Year 1 Architecture degree Studio at the University of Nottingham (2004-22). I love designing, drawing, writing, building, gardening…
I am an EXPLORER. I enjoy looking beyond the obvious, questioning life, delving deeper, exploring ideas and concepts – trying them on for size and expanding my horizons.
And I am a MOTHER. To three gorgeous humans: two sons (my eldest – born 2003 and my youngest – born 2007- died 2011) and my step daughter (born 1997). I am also honorary grandma to her son (born 2019).
I am a YOGI. Interlinking the practical and creative with the spiritual and esoteric. I qualified as a Yoga Teacher in 2022.
I am KIND. I never wish to hurt anyone, although sometimes my words are forthright. So if you find yourself wincing, please understand they do not come from a place of judgement but from love and wishing to share my experiences. However, I am aware that we all have unconscious conditioning, so if it ever creeps in, please accept my sincerest apologies. No harm was ever intended.
That’s a brief introduction to me, for those who haven’t met me yet, and even those who have.
More will undoubtedly be revealed as my blog evolves… so let the adventures begin!
